my free photo storage facility, large, well-known, appears to have dropped from the face of the earth; i can't get my pop art, or dozens of personal pictures i had stored there. another round of images vanished off into cyberspace; will it be forever? it's been almost twenty hours now and some frazzled customers are beginning to suspect that it just folded or something. i ignored the last warning, when it closed down for maybe five hours to get a new server. did i back up my photos? no. time for a more effective self-preservation strategy.

this was/is called Fotopic.net- a reputable international place headquartered in England. Don't click on the place, click on this, which will give you some of the rumors flying around about it. I have no idea what happened. As you can read, some say it's bankruptcy, some say it's technical problems, some just say, how come it's been two days and we haven't heard anything? no explanation, no message, no nothing. i'll leave my bitter cusses here in the comments where google will be slow to pick them up, but basically, two days is like two years, to me, pop art fanatic, trying to deal with photo issues at this end, and, I'm sitting on nails. life goes on, though. most of the pictures i have around somewhere, on desktops, or even on other servers. it'll be like cleaning up a game of "fifty-two pickup" in a house where several babies haul off cards and chew them up, whenever you answer the phone.
